An Open Letter

Dear Bill Smith,

Today I received a Twins calendar as a Secret Santa gift. You can imagine my excitement at the idea of having a Twin to look at in my pod at work all year round. However, I was disappointed to find that Carlos Gomez was Mr. December. Now, I know there is nothing you can do about this. What's done is done. And, if J.J. works out at all, I can tape his picture over Gomez. Not that I'd ever do that, as I still cling to my Carlos Gomez shoes. That's another matter.

What is really my issue is that Joe Crede is Mr. July. Seeing as how he's already on the calendar, don't you think it's a good idea just to keep him around? I think so. It saves so much heartache on my part. You know you can sign him for cheap, and I promise we will love that former Chi Sox third baseman like he was our own. Which he is. If you agree to it, which you should.

We've already lost Gomez and Boof. AND Glen Perkins and Jesse Crain are still here. So don't you think you owe us a little bit? Maybe just a little? It's Christmas after all. Just promise you'll think about it.
